BIO

A Senior Research Scientist with over 20 years’ combined experience in energy and power engineering at KIRDI, University of Nairobi, Leicestershire County Council, and Ministry of Works.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Climate Change/Energy & Sustainable Development, De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom and certifications in Energy for Sustainable Development from Lund University, Sweden; Sustainable Energy for Food, TH Köln University of Applied Sciences, Germany; Integration of Renewable Energy Solutions in the Mediterranean Electricity Markets from Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

He has authored and co-authored a few publications and was also a peer reviewer for the former National Council of Science & Technology, and was the Head of Energy Division of KIRDI for over 10 years.

He chairs the Energy Management technical committee at the Kenya Bureau of Standards and a technical member in a few others where he has appreciably contributed his expertise. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) by the Association of Energy Engineers (Atlanta, USA), a Member of the Energy Institute (MEI) UK and a registered T. Eng. (Engineers Board of Kenya). Additionally, he is a licensed Class A Energy Auditor and Class C2 Electrician by the Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
